Stop Ignoring the Spider & Start Aligning to Desires In Your Heart!

November 7, 2024

What if the opportunities you’re waiting for are already right in front of you? That’s the question we explore as I share insights from my conversation with Michelle Vernon and her captivating Spider Story. This metaphorical tale serves as a reminder of the chances we often overlook in our busy lives. Discover how aligning with your true purpose and embracing the present moment can lead to a more fulfilled life. Michelle’s story is one of many that illustrate how the guidance we need is often within us, waiting to be acknowledged and acted upon.

As we navigate the current socio-political climate following President Trump’s re-election, I reflect on the emotions this event stirs and the importance of finding joy amidst uncertainty. Control might be an illusion, but our choices are real and impactful. By sharing Lachelle Vernon’s journey from arriving in Texas with just $19, I illustrate the power of resilience and intentional living. Join me to explore how showing up each day with purpose can not only transform your own life but also influence the world around you.

Speaker 2:

Hey, lightbringers, it’s Sylvia Worsham. Welcome to Released Out with Real Purpose. In this episode we’re going to be referencing our interview with Michelle Vernon the Spider Story, missed Opportunities and if you recall from that interview she talked about one morning she was getting dressed and she saw a spider in her closet and she just kind of like walked over it and said, well, I’ll get to it later. And then she got dressed and walked over it again and it was to showcase missed opportunities, missed opportunities that life gives us every single day and we say, well, when we get to this point in life, then we’ll address this opportunity. And that’s not how opportunities work. God’s timing is very specific to what the desires that we have in our heart. He is there to guide us in those moments, in those opportunities, and we miss it entirely, like we miss the spider, because we’re too busy focused on the wrong things, on the go, go, go, go go of life, and not in the being of life, in the alignment of life, in the actual journey of life, which is to live out these gifts that God has given us on a daily basis. In the present moment, we are too caught up in our past and the pain and the resentment and the anger that comes from our past and we forget that the present moment actually impacts and informs our future, and that spider that we keep skipping over and jumping over might be what we need to shift our life in the desires that our heart carries and the things that we want most in our life, because God is always there with us. We’re the ones that stop talking to him. We’re the ones that stop inviting him into our daily lives. We’re the ones that just say no, I’ve got this, I’m going to think my way through life and I’ve got a brain. God gave me a brain, I’m just going to do it. And we don’t turn inward. We look outward for everything in our life.

Speaker 2:

This week has really been an interesting week for our country. The elections happened two days ago. We’ve elected President Trump again into office. I have very mixed feelings about it, because it’s really a time in our country that could really be a turning point. Our country is in a very precarious state. We are unlike any other country in the world in that we have many cultures that make up the makeup of our country. Right, and it’s an interesting time.

Speaker 2:

But one thing I did write about in all my social media sites and, if you ever want to follow me, I’m at Coach Sylvia Worsham on Instagram. I am at Coach Sylvia Worsham on Facebook business. Feel free to follow me. What I discussed today was I’m going to keep going, no matter what my circumstances are, no matter what I’m faced with. What circumstances I’m faced with, I know a couple of things to be true.

Speaker 2:

Control is an illusion. It is an illusion my mind has created to protect me from pain, from feeling pain and disappointment and resentment and anger and everything that comes with feeling out of control, which a lot of people right now in the country feel. They feel very out of control. They feel like their life is going to be determined by one administration. The truth is not necessarily. Not necessarily, and it really matters how you show up every single day and whether you choose to skip over the spider or not. It does matter.

Speaker 2:

Joy is a choice. It is a choice like any other choice, like you know choosing to brush your teeth or not, choosing to get or not, choosing to show up or not. It is a choice. You can choose joy over anger and bitterment, and bitter bitterment or resentment or any of that crap that’s out there in the world right now, informing us, speaking into us. You know, if you let it, obviously Today, what I do today, how I show up today, impacts tomorrow.

Speaker 2:

When you listen to Lachelle Vernon’s interview, you realize that she came to Texas with $19 in her pocket. She could have easily, just, you know, shrugged her shoulders, shoulders, gone into welfare and just given up altogether. And she didn’t. She fought and she aligned to her divine purpose. She made a choice to keep going, despite the circumstances, despite feeling out of control of her life circumstances, she kept moving forward and aligning to the divine purpose that we’re all here to fulfill. Because you have a divine purpose to fulfill and no matter what the heck is happening in your life, in the circumstances that you’re facing, you still have that purpose that you can choose to fill every single day, to impact with your time, with your attention, with your focus, with your energy. Or you can show your shoulders. You’re right. Either way, it’s up to you.

Speaker 2:

If you’re the one that views life through your lens, you can choose to do something totally different, and it does matter what your mindset and your focus are.

Speaker 2:

If you’re constantly being drawn into these dramas going on in our world, you’re making that choice to turn to social media, to turn the TV on, to listen to certain shows, to allow certain people to speak into you.

Speaker 2:

You’re making those choices every single day. So now it’s about stepping back and looking at your life and saying is this what I want for myself? Is this the life that I want to continue living, or do I want to make different choices? Do I want to actually address that spider in the room? Do I want to face my grief? Do I want to face my pain and stop avoiding it and heal and move on with my life, like I’ve had so many friends of mine that going through divorces, going through grief of losing a loved one, their spouses or parents or whatever and they put one project in front of the other to avoid that spider at all costs because they want to control their circumstances. But here’s the here’s the gist of it You’re going to carry it inside of you and you’re going to project it and it’s going to impact your circumstances, no matter what you do.

Speaker 2:

So, why not face that spider, address it, face that fear, look at that opportunity, take that opportunity, make something wonderful and beautiful with your life, because life is beautiful and no matter how you look at it, it really is entirely up to you what you decide to do. But here’s the thing there are people around you that depend on you. What roles do you play in these people’s lives? Like I’m a mom, I can’t just go into my shell and just stay there, because what I do impacts my little girl. It impacts my little boy.

Speaker 2:

I mean he’s not that little anymore. But it impacts my spouse, it impacts the people I show up for every single day as a life coach, as a spiritual, transformative coach. It matters what I do. It matters what I do with my time, because it keeps going, guys. I mean time keeps moving forward. Whether you are ready or not. It will continue to happen. Face it, deal with it, accept the opportunity, move in the direction of your destiny, of the desires of your heart. It is entirely up to you. What will you choose to do? So let’s say where do you start? Say you want change, say you don’t like where you’re at. What can you start doing right now? Those small baby steps that are going to get you to where you need to go. So let me give you a couple of tips that I’ve used in my own life. Feel free to use whatever speaks to to your soul. Take an inventory of who surrounds you and what you do on a daily basis, like how you’re using your energy on a daily basis. See which ones are energy sucking activities and are energy giving activities to you, and do more of the energy giving activities. That’s one. Why is our environment important? It’s very important who you allow to speak into you.

Speaker 2:

My little girl and I had a conversation this morning on the way to school. She was talking about this kid that she doesn’t really like, who is very mean to her, and the first question I asked my daughter was do you love and respect this person? And she’s like no. So then why are you giving them your time and your energy? Let them go. You can’t let certain people go. It’s hard sometimes because they become a habit in your life. You know the one person you turn to for. You know to give you what you need, but if they’re not serving you and they’re not serving the purpose that you’re here to fulfill for humanity, you’ve got a choice to make. So take a good look at about the five people that surround you on a daily basis. Do they give you energy? Do they take your energy? Very simple questions to ask.

Speaker 2:

And then, if it is family, like, what can, can you do? Maybe you can set up boundaries with certain people in your life instead of completely letting them go because they’re family, they’re spouses, they’re kids. You’re going to have difficult relationships in life. That’s going to happen. How you manage those difficulties in your life now that? That is the key to a successful life, right?

Speaker 2:

So the people in the activities, what is happening in your life right now? And guys start quieting your mind on a daily basis. Choose to do that every single day. However that works for you. Take a walk in nature, shut off social media for a month, choose to watch certain shows on TV. Right, make different choices in your life and see how your life starts to transform around you, like how you really just those baby steps and those baby choices, how they can lead to a much better, more focused life. I’m Sylvia Warsh and thank you so much for tuning in today to the Spider Story, missed Opportunities and how we can shift those opportunities around to make the most of today to impact and inform our tomorrow. Have a wonderful week, stay safe. Love you all.
